Many events are held throughout the year. The following are examples. As dates for each are firmed up, the calendar on our Home Page will be updated, giving specific times with pertinent details given by clicking on the event there. Also, members receive quarterly newsletters which will indicate specifics on these events.
Board Meetings. These are monthly meetings for the Board of Directors typically held on the third Thursday of each month. Non-members can attend with prior notification and approval. This also applies to guest speakers. Meetings are held at the Refure Office and begin at 5 p.m. (Eastern Time).
Annual Membership Meeting. Typically held in February or March, there is a short business meeting, opportunity for membership renewal, new membership application processing, a special guest speaker and a free lunch.
Open House. Typically held in March of each year, this fun-filled event takes place on St. Vincent Island. There are a wide variety of events for all participants. Among them are exhibits, hikes, nature trails, music, historical narratives, photo opportunities, art exhibits and lunch for the first 100 visitors.
Island Tours. The Supporters group conducts wagon tours of St. Vincent Island in October, November and January through May. The tours are open wagon and last approximately 4 hours. Depending on the time of year, the temperatures can be very warm and biting insects can be prsent. Dress accordingly and bring your own water, insect repellant, sun block and snacks.
Beach Clean-up. Several times each year the Supporters organize trash pick-up events for specific beach areas on St. Vincent. Join us for a very necessary and meaningful activity to help us maintain this pristine natural treasure.
